I love to acquire all kinds of fabric. When I am not working on making my wall hangings, I am searching for that perfect fabric. It can be a full time job in itself. Some of the more popular fabrics I will purchase in the future include Marimekko and Florence Broadhurst.
I have just made another set, this time for a birthday present for a friend. She turns 60 this year. The colour blue has always been her favourite. Living on a property in the small town of Crows Nest in South East Queensland, she also has a vineyard that is producing some of the finest wines in the region. I am sure you are getting a picture in your head now of what it looks like where she lives.
Shabby Chic come to mind, you can imagine the setting, like the ones in the magazines. Well i found the perfect fabric at my local haberdashery store. Off white with blue farm house and running creek pictures on it. I know that she will just love my creation. I think she is going to display some of my work when the cellar door opens.
Shabby Chic will be the next theme i will incorporate onto my website. I will be able to find many interesting colours and designs in this category. It is amazing how these trends always come back. For example, Retro, who would have thought that this would be all the rage in 2007.
Retro is my personal favourite, with its bright colours and distinctive shapes, flowing lines and waves. These are all traits of the original retro design. Who watches Ugly Betty? The office set designs are so bright and cheerful, so Retro. I would love my whole house to look like those offices. Furthermore my fabric wall hangings would fit in nicely there. I need that persons number, I need to meet them and tell them how much I love their work. Orange and White, Leather and Glass.
