When you want to install bay windows in your place you need some basic tools. These tools include, a framing square or other straight edge. You will also need a tape measure. You should also make sure to have a circular saw, bits and a good drill, a working level, a stapler, a caulking gun, tin snips, and crow bars.
You will need a laundry list of materials as well such as the bay window unit, the supporting brackets, special roofing paper and nails, the right shingles, silicone caulking for your caulking gun and some insulation of fiberglass. You also need the proper size boards for window skirting. If you are simply enlarging a window that is already there or if you are installing a window where there used to be a wall then you need 2X4s for the additional framing and for the cripple studs.
Steps for Installation
1. Decide wear the new window will go and remove the old window. Using the measurements from the bay window to mark on the outside of the house where the bay window will go and then cut the opening using the circular saw.
2. Cut through the studs already in place and put in jack studs, cripple studs, a new header, and a rough sill to begin building the framing for the new bay window.
3. If your window is up to five feet wide then you will need two support braces and if the window is even wider then you will need three support braces.
4. Put your bay window on the support brace to get it in place and then slide it in and follow by shimming to get it even. When this is done you can anchor it.
5. After putting the roof frame on the window then you can nail it in place. Between the roof and the window you can fill it with insulation. Afterwards you can attach the roof sheeting and the frame and then put roofing paper over them. Put the drip edges in, flashing, and finally the shingle.
6. Using window skirting for the window bottom. Add some insulation and put the skirt bottom underneath the window.
7. Finally you can use caulking to seal it.
This basic list will help you know what steps you need to do in order to install bay windows. Using a picture of a bay window and instructions you will get your bay window installed and will only need bay window curtains to add for a final touch.

How can you be sure you have hired the right air duct cleaning contractor? With primarily three different methods used to clean the air ducts in your home and prices ranging from $59 to $800, you want to be well informed before you start contacting air duct cleaning companies.
So why the huge disparity in prices? The answer lies somewhere between homeowner preferences and business marketing practices. For example, someone who is a very clean person that has just purchased an old home from a party that had several pets, may not care about the price. On the other hand, someone that just wants to get their ductwork cleaned because their neighbor just had it done, might only want to pay a minimal amount. Residential air duct cleaning companies know this and will base their marketing around it.
So what are the different methods? The most common are:
Rotary vacuum brushing, with camera Rotary vacuum brushing High-pressure air washingRotary vacuum brushing If you or someone in your home suffers from severe allergies, you might want the re-assurance which using the camera can give you. You will know for certain that all dust, debris and grime have been removed. But be prepared to pay a price! This method is very time consuming so the technicians will not be able to see as many customers per day. Typically, these folks will come out and give you a bid. You might want to consider at what point it is better to just replace the old air ducts with new! High-pressure air washing The air-wash method is very quick and very affordable. But will it be effective enough in removing caked-on grime? Most likely not. What if you have a newer home with new duct work which still has factory-processing oils inside it? Conversely, if you just had your air ducts cleaned last year, it might not be necessary to have such a thorough job done this time. These are questions only you can answer. If you are an extremely tidy person (have you been called a neat freak before?) you might be most comfortable with the camera method. Or, if the ductwork was recently cleaned, you may prefer the high-pressure air-wash method. Most people are somewhere in between. If the company you hire is reputable and you can trust the duct cleaner to do a good job, you might want to consider using the brush cleaning method (minus the camera) first. Later, once all air ducts have been brushed, you can switch to the lower cost air-wash method.
Certainly, brushing with or without a camera, or simply using the high-pressure air-wash method is better and healthier for you and your family than doing nothing at all. Either way, you will have peace of mind, knowing that decaying pet and rodent hair and excrement will not be blowing around your house. As one company says; ‘If it’s in the air, it will soon be in your lungs’.

Personally, I love leather furnishings. If you do as well, this article will help you learn how to purchase leather furnishings with a minimum of fuss.
Leather furnishings can be a classy addition to your living room or den. Many consumers are turning towards leather furnishings because of their attractive styling and durability. However, leather furnishings are an investment and some care should be taken when selecting a piece for your home. Here are some simple tips to help you purchase leather furnishings that are the right choice for your lifestyle.
First, don’t be afraid of purchasing leather! It is actually four times more durable than fabric covered furnishings. Leather also improves as it ages, so you won’t have to worry about a piece looking worn. Leather can be used in an office space or formal setting, but families with children do not need to shy away from it. Families might want to purchase leather furnishings that have unzipping cushions. This way you can remove the cushions to freshen them up or to have them replaced.
There are three different finishes on leather. Aniline is the softest of the leather choices. It is also the most expensive. It is made with no protective coating over the leather. Semi-aniline has a small amount of coating on it, and pigmented leather is fully coated. When you decide to purchase a leather piece, you will need to first think about what you are doing to do with the piece and what your lifestyle is like. The aniline leather is soft and beautifully dyed, but it is not protected from stains. A spill on pigmented leather can typically just be wiped up, but the leather is not as luxurious.
Although leather/vinyl combinations typically save you some money, they wear at different rates. The vinyl part of your couch or chair will wear quicker than your leather. For this reason, make sure that the piece you are choosing is 100 percent leather. Leather couches and chairs are a good investment because they last much longer than fabric couches. Some people are turned off by the higher prices, but you should keep in mind that you will likely purchase two or more fabric couches in the same time span that you would keep your leather couch.
Today, about half of upholstered furniture sold is made from leather. Once you have selected the right leather piece for your lifestyle, make sure you receive some education on how to properly care for your new addition. Frankly, this is a critical step to getting the most for your money when your purchase leather furnishings.
At the time of your purchase, you should receive information regarding any care instructions specific to the pieces you bought. In general, you will just need to take a dry cloth and dust off your leather every few days. You should take a vacuum with a crevice tool and clean along the bottom and in between cushions. You should use a leather conditioner every six to twelve months to keep the leather looking good and feeling soft. As simple as this may all sound, the purchase of leather pieces is a good choice and a fairly easy process.

If you know the basics about kitchen cabinet refacing then it will be easy for you to do. If you want to make your kitchen cabinets look great, but don’t know the first thing about cabinetmaking then don’t worry. You can make your kitchen look great by spicing up your old cabinets rather than getting rid of them all together. You’ll love the look and feel of new cabinets in your house without the work and cost of buying new cabinets.
You can save a lot of money when you reface your cabinets instead of replacing them completely. You can also keep your old cabinets, which are probably better than any newer cabinets that you would buy. You will also be able to make them more useful by adding additions that you don’t have at the moment.
Choose what kind of cabinet door you want first. If you have a common type of cabinet with a face-frame then you want to choose a door/drawer to put in the frames. You will need to use skill to fit them correctly.
Pick a style for your doors. You need to choose a raised panel, a flat panel, and what kind of finish you want. You can choose between painted, unfinished, or natural. Usually you can find a door that is already finished to save you some work. Usually the look better to if you buy them prefinished. Any finish you could do might look sloppy compared to a door that is already finished.
Select the hinges that you want for your door and make sure that you can open them correctly.
Measure your cabinets for doors and drawers. You’ll need to measure all the doors and drawers and make sure that you take into account any false drawers you may have as well.
You will also need to cover the front of the frames to match the door. You need some peel and stick to do this and you need drawer rails as well.
Measure all the end panels and the make sure to measure anything that has a glass door or will have one. You need to measure inside and outside to get the right size panels.
You might want to make lot of other home improvements at the same time that you do this. You can search your home for different things to take care of and your kitchen especially. It can take about 4 weeks to get your cabinet doors in your home so this will give you lots of time to take care of your home first. You can check for any shelves that might have water damage or any other problems. You’ll want to replace such shelves and make sure that they match the new ones you are ordering for your cabinets.
